A general bit of blather about Pittsburgh sports and National sports.

All I have to say is its about time. Fleury will no doubt be a great NHL player but for right now this is the right move. Fleury needs to regain some confidence that may have been lost after he was responsible for the USA's gamewinning goal in the World Junior Championship. He is not going to do that playing behind the Pens defense which bears a resemblance to a trash can. That being said, Fleury, Aubin and Caron have all played well this year. At times they have stood on thier head and kept the Pens in games. However, there is not a clear cut number one here. To date all three have played in very similar fashion. Fleury is not putting people in the seats and is set to gain the most by staying in the NHL through his bonus package. There for, for a cash strapped team it only makes sense to send Fleury down. He will gain confidence, the Pens will perhaps save money and all this will happen without affecting the Pens performance on the ice.
